I read a great blog post this morning from Jill Konrath’s blog. I personally find her 3rd point particularly true for me. She writes:
NEVER look at your email first thing in the morning. It’ll suck you in and you’ll lose a couple of hours.
This is so true for me. I’m amazed at how much time spend when I get started checking email.
Read Jill’s nice and short post here: Salespeople Should Never, Ever Do This ….
Along with my theme here of time suckers, I’ll add one to the list:
Do your expenses and other “paperwork” after 5 or 6 pm.
Usually, between 5 and 6 pm, is a decent opportunity to catch an executive at their desk, because most of their admins will leave during the 5 to 6 hour. Same can be said between the 7am and 8am hour. I’ve had great success catching execs at their desks before 8am and before the gatekeeper reports for duty. You don’t want to waste precious and prime calling time doing things you can do in the off hours.
Happy Selling!
